Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest carmaker, today launched the updated Ertiga in the price range of Rs. 5.99 lakh – Rs. 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The facelifted model comes with several new features and exterior & interior updates. The diesel version of the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, additionally, gets SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) micro-hybrid system that was introduced with the Ciaz hybrid recently.
With the help of SHVS technology, the new Ertiga diesel is claimed to return an improved mileage of 24.52km/l (up by 18 per cent). Moreover, the petrol variants achieve 17.5 km/l (9 % improvement) by refining the acclaimed K14B engine. Having said that, there are no changes in power figures of both the engines – 1.4-litre VVT petrol (91bhp, 130Nm) and 1.3 DDiS 200 diesel (89bhp, 200Nm).
Though the overall shape of the car remains similar to the old model, the updated Ertiga now looks sportier than before with a new triple-slat chrome grille, revised air dam, new bumper, new chrome fog lamp bezel and back door garnish with embossed “Ertiga”. The vehicle’s cabin also receives some changes with the new high grade seat & door trim fabric and 50:50 split on the third row.
Coming to features, the Ertiga now gets Maruti Suzuki’s SmartPlay infotainment system that comes with TFT touch screen display, Bluetooth, voice command, navigation system and a reverse parking camera with display. Other features are Push-Start/Stop with smart key, electrical foldable ORVM, Bluetooth audio and 2nd row accessory socket.

Added Kalsi, “We are happy to introduce safety equipment such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt with pre-tensioners and force limiters on the base trim as an option.”
