Abarth Punto, the second car from the Fiat Chrysler-owned performance brand in India, was launched today at 9.95 lakh. However, that wasn't the only Abarth to be launched today; Fiat also launched the performance-oriented version of the Avventura crossover at the same price as the Abarth Punto Evo.
Both, the Abarth Punto and the Abarth Avventura, will house a 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol unit under the hood that will be mated to a 5-speed manual. The Abarth Punto promises segment-leading performance numbers: 145bhp of power along with a maximum torque of 212Nm. The Abarth Avventura's numbers, on the other hand, puts out 140bhp and 210Nm of peak torque.

Just so you know, the regular Fiat Punto Evo is offered with 3 engine options: the 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre naturally-aspirated petrol units, and a 1.3-litre multijet diesel unit (in 2 states of tune). The regular Fiat Avventura is offered with a 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre multijet diesel.
Abarth Avventura
Design changes on the Fiat Abarth Punto include the Abarth badge on the bonnet instead 'Fiat', a front grille with contrast horizontal slats, secondary air dams, a sportier rear bumper, and 16-inches dual-tone alloy wheels. The side profile of the car also gets Abarth decals. It will be available in two colours - Pearl white and Hip Hop black.
Moving on to the cabin, it sports the signature Abarth badge on the steering wheel and new upholstery among other changes. In terms of safety, the Fiat Abarth Punto gets 7 airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Hill-start assist control, etc.

It too comes with features similar to the Punto Evo but is tall and boasts of a ground clearance of 205mm. The Avventura can go from 0-100km/h in 9.9 seconds and the bump in power and torque does wonders to the overall drivability of the car.
